Get NCES ID#

It is necessary for you to enter your school NCES ID number into the Excel workbook cover page when you first open the Excel workbook file. The workbook won't permit you to enter any other data until you do this. To look up your school NCES ID number, please go to the National Center for Education Statistics website at:
http://nces.ed.gov/ccd/schoolsearch/

The National Center for Education Statistics searchable database contains all school and district NCES ID numbers. To seach the database, we recommend that you enter your school name and your state (see below).

Important Note: Entering data in all search fields may result in records not being returned. Sometimes less information is better. Also, you may want to try to simplify the name of your school. For example, if your school is named "J.F. Kennedy High School", you may want to only type "Kennedy".
